On December 22 Herbert Holmes notified the Board of
Directors his plans to resign as president of TSDA by the end of 2010. He
will remain as Director of TSDA. Red Oliver chose not to serve as
President. E.B. Raley put his name forward as president, Gary Payne
nominated Steve Rhidenour as president. On January 1 E.B. Raley
took his name out of contention for president of TSDA. Herbert called for a
vote. Steve Rhidenour will serve as President of TSDA beginning Jan 1.

Kay Stephens motioned, the TSDA nursery dog age rule will be the
same as USBCHA, with dogs turning 3 by July 1 ineligible to run in the
nursery class after August 1. The exceptions to this rule are 1) any Triple
Crown Trial occurring after August 1, and 2) the TSDA finals trial. Overage
nursery dogs may compete in these trials in a separate class from age
eligible nursery dogs, seconded by Herbert Holmes. Motion passed.

Herbert Holmes motioned for the Nursery dog of year points count from the
first day of August thru the last day of July, the following year, with the
exception of the first TSDA finals nursery class that falls after the
Nursery dogs eligibility has run out. those points will count for dog of the
year. At time of the TSDA finals nursery trial, we can have a USBCHA
eligible nursery trial which will not count towards the previous years
nursery dog of the year, seconded by Kay Stephens. Motion passed

Gary Payne motioned to open up the TSDA Finals trial to all dogs and all
handlers by creating a "trial within a trial" and in order to facilitate
this change we need to delete all rules currently in place in regard to the
sheep finals (refer to Rules Section IV-H), seconded by Kay Stephens.

Rule committee was formed to review the issue of handlers entering TSDA
trials, especially novice class, from other venue, (e.g.: AKC, ASCA, AHBA,
etc). The committee members were; Red Oliver, Francis Raley, Ron Burkey,
Joy Hall, Geri Abrahms, Catherine Laria, Sheryl McDonald, Terri Nicolau,
Jo Anne Noble, Chairperson.
After reviewing the rules of the different herding venues, they propose
the current change to the novice rule (underlined):
III. CLASS DEFINITIONS
D. NOVICE CLASS
2. HANDLER
A Novice handler is any person that has not competed in any venue in
the world, at any level, with any stock higher than beginner/started
level. In the TSDA rules this is any handler that has not competed in
Ranch, Open Ranch, Nursery or the Open class world wide.
3. DOG
A Novice dog is any dog that has not competed in any venue in the
world, at any level, with any stock higher than beginner/started level. In
the TSDA rules this is any dog that has not competed in Ranch, Open Ranch,
Nursery or the Open class world wide.
